About Meganne Peck
I am a visual artist, teacher, and mother of three from South Jersey. Most of my inspiration stems from the fusing of pop culture and the masters of art. My art merges old and new, abstract and realism with a sense of simplistic literacy to it. Most of my paintings combine realistic subjects in an abstract setting. My work plays with bright, bold colors, while rendering texture. I work mostly in acrylics, oil paints, watercolor paints and have experience in stained glass and ceramics. My subject matter varies according to the medium I am using, ranging from realistic still lifes to abstract conceptual art influenced by music and theology to whimsical fantasy art which is greatly influenced by my children. Thank you. This is a portrait of my son. He was born with a cleft lip and palet. On the back is a message to him expressing my love for him and my hope that he sees himself as I and many others see him, a handsome talented and intellegent young man and not as the beast he sees in himself.
